It is half way through January and that means that many hardcore sports fans will be looking forward to one of the biggest events of the UK annual sporting calendar. For once we are not even referring to football, (although many are eagerly following their teams progress each week).
We are talking about the biggest horse racing even of the year outside of the Grand National, the Cheltenham Festival. It is something all horse racing enthusiasts look forward to each year, and it is always a sell out.
Every year the festival is in March and runs from a Tuesday to a Friday. This year the Cheltenham Festival 2018 is between 13 and 16 March so make sure you have your UK TV package in Spain sorted out as it would be a shame to miss any of the races.
Tuesday 13 March is the opening day and the one that everyone will have their eye on this year is the Supreme Novices Hurdle. It is the first race of the festival and where you will hear the famous Cheltenham Roar as the racegoers cheer on the horses.
Another one to look out for on the opening day is the Champion Hurdle which will see some of the best horses from around the world compete in a gruelling race.
